My writing draws on the amazing and sometimes intense adventures I’ve had from living in seven diverse countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Romania, India, Kyrgyzstan, Laos and most recently, in North Korea with UNICEF.  I now live in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with my husband, two resident geckos and a chatty myna bird.

  Disappearing Tracks

A Middle Grade ECO-adventure

Twelve-year-old Armando Cortez was a toddler when his mother, a wildlife photographer mysteriously vanished on the first Amazing Animal Race—a grueling, continent-hopping adventure to photograph seven endangered animals in seventy days. His over-protective father never mentioned any of this to him. However, when Armando spends a summer in London with his wacky grandmother, he finds his mother’s tattered race journal and resolves to follow in her footsteps. He convinces his grandmother to join him on the second Amazing Animal Race. His mission: win the race in his mother's name and solve the mystery of what happened to her.  (For more details click here)
